  • Magnolias are known for their strength, perseverence, and beauty. They are symbols of joy, health, dignity, stability, endurance, and long life. Those are attributes that we work to help our clients attain. Magnolias are also representative of the warmth and friendliness of Southern hospitality. We are based in the greater Atlanta metropolitan area, and we embrace the heartfelt kindness found here.

  • We believe in using a holistic approach that acknowledges and supports the whole person, not just an illness. We understand that the path to optimizing your overall health and well-being includes addressing your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, social, and environmental health needs.

Our years of nursing experience have given us a deep appreciation for the value of Patient- and Family-Centered Care. Our clients are at the center of all we do.

We want to partner with you and empower you to become a stronger health advocate for yourself and your loved ones. We also want to collaborate with members of the healthcare team and the community to access and obtain the best healthcare possible. E. Ashley Abuel, BSN, RN, BCPA

A Board Certified Patient Advocate with over 19 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Erin Ashley Abuel, or “Ashley” to all who know her, is the founder and owner of Magnolia Patient Advocates. Ashley has been a Registered Nurse for over 19 years and has worked in a variety of settings and roles, including pediatric critical care, pediatrics, travel nursing, outpatient clinics, care coordination, and clinic management. Throughout her career, she has always found the most joy in connecting with patients and their families, and in providing support as they experience difficult medical situations.

Ashley gained much of her advocacy experience while providing care coordination services for patients in a pediatric cardiology clinic at a large academic medical center. While working in that role for nearly 10 years, she communicated frequently with patients, families, doctors, clinical staff, social workers, administrative staff, insurance companies, pharmacies, home health, community resources, and anyone else that she needed to speak to in order to advocate for each patient. She provided education, resources, coordination, and support for patients and families from prenatal diagnosis through adulthood.

Ashley became an Independent Patient Advocate because she witnessed and experienced the gaps and barriers in our confusing and broken health care system. She believes that people shouldn’t need to feel alone, confused, or overwhelmed when facing a new diagnosis, managing a complex illness, experiencing a medical crisis, or transitioning into a new situation or stage of life. Her goal as an advocate is to support and empower her clients to understand, obtain, and access the health care services they need in a safe, cost effective, and timely way.

As an advocate, Ashley enjoys working with clients of all ages, but she especially loves working with senior adults. She is able to partner with seniors and their loved ones to help them manage their health, navigate difficult life transitions, and identify the resources and options that can help them achieve the quality of life they desire and deserve.
