Frequently Asked Questions

  • An Independent Patient Advocate is a professional who uses their knowledge and experience to help people navigate and understand the healthcare system, obtain and access the care they need, and make the best healthcare-related decisions for themselves and their loved ones. Patient Advocates can provide support, guidance, education, resources, planning tools, and care coordination services. Patient Advocates are able to collaborate with you and your healthcare team, but we do not replace your healthcare provider. We do not provide medical care or medical advice.

Some Advocates work for hospitals and insurance companies. They can provide many helpful services, however they are ultimately paid by the company that employs them, and therefore they may be limited in the information and services they can provide. At Magnolia Patient Advocates, we are Independent Patient Advocates. That means that we work for YOU and only you, not a hospital or insurance company. We are able to tailor our services to support your needs.
